Assistant Coach: Long Jump/Triple Jump

Jason Linnear is Originally from Killeen TX, Jason Linnear, a military brat moved to Maryland in 2000 where he attended Edgewood High School. There, he participated in Football, as well as Track and Field; excelling in both sports. In 2002 and 2003, he earned 2nd team All-County in Football and All-County status in both Long and Triple Jump. After qualifying for the Maryland high school state championship track meet and placing 6th in 2002, he moved on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Bowie State University.  At Bowie, Jason decided that his passion for jumping was not ready to be dimmed just yet, so he opted to become a walk-on athlete, where he was able to show his skills, before earning a scholarship. Through hard work and perseverance, he went on to become a 6x All-CIAA performer in both the Long and Triple Jump, earned a Charles “Pops” Williams award in 2004, two Most-Improved awards in 2005 and 2006 consecutively, and NCAA Division II All-American status in 2006 for Triple Jump. His personal best in the field was 23.6(ft) in the Long Jump and 49.6(ft) in the Triple Jump.  In 2014, Jason agreed to become the jump coach for the EYT Spartans along side Coach Valentine where he helped lead 4 athletes to the Junior Olympics,  with two achieving All-American status. Coach Jason has been a staple with the program's success of developing young athletes.
